About Unite 6 Plans
FTTC broadband is provided by delivering the fibre network right to the Openreach green cabinet in your street. The final link, from the cabinet to your premises, is made by a copper telephone line (PSTN).
Once your connectivity reaches the green cabinet, it enters the shared broadband infrastructure and travels on towards the public internet.
The speed you can achieve depends on how close you are to the Openreach green cabinet and the amount of shared activity.
FTTC can give you connection speeds of UP TO 80Mbps download and UP TO 20Mbps upload.
FTTC G. Fast uses the same line technology and connects back to the BT exchange similar to FTTC. However, the way it encodes the data stream allows for quicker speeds.
The speed you can achieve will still depend on the amount of shared activity.
We currently offer 2 bandwidth connection speeds. UP TO 160Mbps download and UP TO 30Mbps upload & UP TO 330Mbps download and UP TO 50Mbps upload.
Fibre To The Premises (FTTP) sends data from the exchange to the user’s premises entirely over fibre optic cabling, using existing broadband infrastructure.
The speed you can achieve can depend on the amount of shared activity.
Currently the highest download speeds available for an FTTP service range from between 300Mbps and 1Gbps depending on where you are situated.
A dedicated leased line, (also called a fibre optic leased line or Ethernet leased line), is a dedicated fibre optic service provided directly to the premises. A leased line connects directly to the public internet over a dedicated fibre optic meaning the bandwidth is all yours and you’ll benefit from consistently high speeds. Because it’s private, there’s less to worry about when it comes to data security too.
Leased lines have symmetrical download and upload speeds, which is extremely important for Schools wishing to use the cloud and remote file sharing.
Speeds start from 100Mbps and go all the way up to 1Gbps (1000Mbps)
